About the Flag

In the Italian-speaking party of Switzerland there is another "Lega", in addition to the already described Lega dei Ticinesi. This is the "Lega Sud" (Southern League), that should not be mixed up with correspondingly named parties in Southern Italy.

The Lega Sud is closely linked to the Italian Lega Nord and wants closer ties to the adjacent parts of Italy, especially Lombardy.

The symbol is very much in the Lega Nord style, being a circle showing a red map of Ticino with the Visconti's serpent as well as three swords; the inscription "TICINO & MESOLCINA" refers to the two Italian speaking territories, the canton of Ticino and the Mesolcina valley in Graubünden.

The flag is square, white with the symbol [1,2]. They also use the Insubrian flag [3].
